Chevron Australia has an exciting opportunity for two Lean Sigma Facilitators - Black Belt to join the Lean Sigma team. Based in Perth, these permanent roles will initially be responsible for leading and facilitating Lean Sigma project teams through the define, measure, analyse, improve and control (DMAIC) steps. The roles will require regular travel to customer and project sites.
Key responsibilities include:
- Lead and facilitate multiple Lean Sigma process improvement teams
- Guide teams through the DMAIC improvement roadmap and use quality improvement and statistical tools to find critical input factors
- Facilitate the necessary changes to achieve process improvements
- Facilitate project identification sessions to help functional groups and major capital projects develop a strong queue of improvement opportunities
- Design and improve measurement processes, perform analysis using appropriate tools and interpret results using critical thinking to reach conclusions and make reasonable recommendations prior to implementation
- Determine the financial benefit of process improvements
- Convert process metric improvements into an auditable financial benefit
- Document and obtain operations and finance agreement on formal project look-backs
- Communicate project progress, improvement and impact
- Teach and mentor team members and other green belt facilitators in Lean Sigma
- Provide assistance with other facilitators improvement projects as required
- Provide deployment direction to and assist management with the area level Lean Sigma program
- Facilitate large group process improvement identification workshops at the customer locations using value stream map and flow down approaches
- Commitment to health, environment and safety and Chevron best practices
Key skills and experience required:
- Tertiary qualification
- Lean Sigma Black Belt certified
- Previous experience implementing Lean Sigma principals on multiple projects with tangible results
- Ability to work as part of a team and independently
- Ability to effectively interact with a variety of personnel in a professional manner
- Strong work ethic, organisational skills and the ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously
- Attention to detail and a commitment to meeting deadlines in an accurate and timely manner
