This leading service provider requires a Network Engineer due to growth within the business and new client wins. This position will ensure the smooth operation of the voice and data network in order to provide maximum performance for the businesses millions of system users. It is an exciting role that sits across voice and data and will provide the successful engineer with exposure and training for many new technologies.
About the Role
The Network Security Engineer will provide high level technical support for voice and data network systems, create and maintain network documentation and be involved in projects in order to upgrade improved equipment procedures. On a day to day basis the engineer will be implementing new technologies and major projects such as Data Centre and IPTEL solutions. In addition, the candidate will support level 1 and 2 engineers and act as an escalation contact.
The Voice and Data Engineer must have the ability to create a detailed implementation plan from detailed design documentation, provide technical feedback for detailed design documents and diagnose and restore complex issues within the networks, infrastructure, products and services supplied by my client.
Skill and experience required:
- A number of years work experience in a level 3 support role, implementation and design role
- A minimum CCNP and/or CCVP
- Strong technical skills across Cisco routing and switching and Cisco IPTEL
- Proven experience with VNP and Remote Access Technologies and F5 Load Balances
- While it is not necessary, experience with IBM SNA networking across an Enterprise WAN will be highly regarded (this includes DLSw+, CIP/CSNA and Token Ring)
