The core function of the role is the daily management of the collections & litigation process for the Commercial Lending portfolio ensuring accurate records are kept including copies of all correspondence and diary notes documenting all conversations and arrangements with borrowers.
Responsibilities for this position are:
- Recovering debt funds through a proactive approach
- Ongoing management and timely follow up of defended and non defended litigated matters
- Oversee and assist the realisation process for all mortgagee sales including daily contact with
- Real Estate agents, Solicitors, Valuers, Receivers and Mercantile agencies
- Handling the impaired loans
- Monthly report preparation
- Oversee and assist negotiations, mediations and court hearings (where necessary)
- Liaise closely with the Compliance, Operations and Administration teams to ensure adequate processes and controls exist within the business
- Ensure high standards of accuracy on outgoing documentation to optimise efficiency of the department. Grow and maintain strong business reputation, through effective controls such as communication with clients both verbal and in writing
- Assistance with ad hoc projects as and when required
Accountabilities for this position are:
- Detailed knowledge of all relevant legislative and industry requirements, which may impact across the industry, e.g. UCCC & privacy act. This implies an ability to understand and interpret in non-legal terms relatively complex legal documents and understand the wider implications for the organisations existing standards and compliance procedures.
- Loan Administration, interest calculations and adjustments
- Proven experience with commercial loans
- Commercial Mortgage Compliance
- Minimum 5 years Mortgage Industry experience
- Sound analytical and loan review skills
- Excellent excel capabilities
- The ability to Effectively communicate with all levels of management with a focus on building relationships internal and external parties
- The ability to prioritise work flow ensuring timely and accurate completion of tasks
- Being able to challenge current policies and procedures to maximise efficiencies and improve customer service & internal process
