Overview of position:
The Assistant Licensing Officer manages a team-based licensing function that assesses licence applications for regulated industries in NSW in accordance with legislation, policies and procedures and in a manner that promotes integrity and high professional standards, is consistent with community expectations and ensures public confidence.
The Assistant Licensing Officer provides compliance related advice to clients in a high volume transactional environment and to internal management regarding the assessment and processing of licences across regulated sectors within NSW.
Selection criteria
The following selection criteria form a specific part of the selection process. Candidates for this role are asked to address each of the criteria below.
- Proven experience in team leadership and supervision in a high volume work environment.
- Proven ability to assess and make recommendations on licence applications and related approvals within departmental and legislative standards.
- Demonstrated understanding of established business processes, service delivery standards and working to given timeframes in a high volume processing environment.
- Well developed oral and written communication skills including the ability to write reports, briefs and correspondence on complex issues.
- Demonstrated well developed administrative and organisational skills with proven ability to work under pressure, set priorities and manage a diverse workload.
- Demonstrated experience resolving complaints and providing professional and timely responses to customer inquiries concerning licensing requirements and processes
