QR National is the largest rail freight haulage operator in Australia by tonnes hauled, operating in key freight sectors and supply chains across the country. We are focused primarily on large, heavy haul rail tasks such as the transportation of coal, iron ore, other minerals, agricultural products and general freight as well as containerised freight.
We are currently seeking a Senior Applications Solution Architect to provide technical leadership and expertise across the applications architecture and solution design functions for QR National's Applications Services portfolio. You will work closely with other Application Solution Architects and other solution designers and architects in the wider QR National IT team. As the technical expert you will ensure high quality, cost effective standards and IT solutions are both delivered and maintained.
Further responsibilities include:
- Provide expert knowledge and guidance to staff in technical development
- Demonstrate strong leadership in the application of innovative thinking in the area of solution design, application development and methodology and process improvement
- Apply high level skills to identification and analysis of business issues and manage the technical design and development of solutions accordingly
This is a challenging senior role and will require individuals to demonstrate a solid background in Solutions Architecture with knowledge of large scale and complex IT Applications. You will possess exceptional communication skills to provide high quality trusted advice to internal QR National customers and have the ability to build a strong professional network within the organisation.
