About the role

This position is to provide a range of support services, such as budget preparation, reporting, analysis and reconciliations within the Branch. This finance support role will work closely with the Senior Manager, Health Infrastructure Program
(HIP) finance to support the Branch and its clients to ensure responsive and accurate results. Technical accounting knowledge, high level analytical, financial planning, and budgeting are all essential requirements of the position.

Eligibility/Other Requirements: Progression of or progress towards qualifications in accounting or a related discipline would be an advantage, or equivalent operational experience.

DUTY STATEMENT

  • Provide support and advice, on such matters as planning, resource allocation and other business of the HIP.

  • Assist with audit liaison for financial statements that are prepared within the area.

  • Apply financial policy and develop and implement financial procedures and guidelines in accordance with the Financial Management Act 1996 and other Health Directorate instructions, procedures and relevant legislation.
  • Assist with project resource allocations and the financial operations including financial modelling as required.

Reporting to the Import and Export Operations Manager, this is a unique opportunity to join our supply team and be responsible for providing financial, administrative and clerical services in order to ensure effective, efficient and accurate financial and administrative operations as they relate to import activities.

The key Accountabilities of this role include:
  • Monitor, evaluate and prepare periodical reports on the performance of CUB import activities.
  • Record, summarise, translate and report transactions that take place.
  • Generate required reporting for Imports Operations Manager.
  • Build relationship with administration counterparts at shipping lines and cartage operators
  • Monitor and control / reconcile returnable assets i.e. Pallets / packaging
  • Responsible for payment processing (FX and AUD) and checking.
  • Responsible for investigating, researching and resolving issues or concerns pertaining to payments to suppliers / 3rd party providers.
  • Process high volumes of invoices, queries and Treasury FX spreadsheet.
  • Ensure creditors are paid in time to avoid unnecessary costs i.e. late payment penalties and interest charges.
  • Regulate mechanisms for keeping track of expenses and income.
  • Contribute to the preparation of company financial reports.
  • Support and manage the team to ensure high performance, agility and continuous improvement.
  • Ensure appropriate time is allocated to team KPOs and Development planning.
  • Contribute to a safe working environment

Outstanding communication and stakeholder management skills will ensure your continued success as will:
  • Previous experience managing purchasing teams international commodities within a high volume/FMCG environment
  • Solid experience in an import/export function in a high volume/FMCG environment.
  • Experience with FX payments
  • Strong bookkeeping, numerical and administrative skills
  • Very effective organizational skills
  • Computer skills including the ability to operate computerized accounting, spreadsheets and word processing programs, and email at a highly proficient level
  • Oracle experience.
