The thl model is to build/buy, rent and sale and as such we have design and manufacturing facilities in Australia and New Zealand in addition to our extensive rental branches and retail network worldwide.
Reporting to the Accounting Manager in Melbourne office, the role of Financial Accountant is integral to the operations of the small, tight knit Finance team. Responsibilities include:
- Preparation of monthly accounts including journals, accruals, reconciliations and review of GL accounts to P&L and balance sheet level
- Completion of monthly reports to Parent Company including review and analysis of variances to plan/forecast.
- Oversee the bank reconciliation and Treasury/cash processes to ensure all risks are minimised.
- Provide advice and assistance to the Accounts team as it relates to GL and POS issues
- Liaise with IT in AU and NZ regarding IT issues for the finance team
- Accounting for overseas offices
- Assistance with Budgets, forecasts, AP and Treasury related issues
- Assisting the Accounting Manager and providing assistance and direction to other finance staff as needed
The role will be highly visible within the company and offers exposure to operational staff and the parent company, as well as banks, auditors and key suppliers.
The successful candidate should be degree and CA/CPA qualified or near, with minimum 3 years financial accounting experience gained in either a Chartered firm or industry.
In addition to strong technical accounting skills, verbal and written communication skills are essential in order to develop productive relationships with stakeholders at all levels in the business. Strong proficiency with General Ledger systems and MS products is required.
