We currently have a fantastic opportunity for a Common Law Specialist to become part of our Workers’ Compensation business unit.
This is a great opportunity to utilise your extensive experience in Workers Compensation claims management. Through successfully undertaking Injury Management and dealing with complex legal and Work Injury Damages claims, you will help drive our desired business outcomes, in adherence with the necessary KPI’s and guidelines.
Your Responsibilities:
- The ability to identify, manage and determine with reference to a blended portfolio of Complex legal claims: Common Law, S151z Recoveries, Pre disputes, S102, permanent impairment and claims in accordance with Workers Compensation legislation
- Efficiently and effectively manage a portfolio of Common Law claims from inception to finalisation in accordance with both WorkCover and Allianz requirements
- The ability to complete timely and accurate reporting as required both by internal Allianz business demands and by WorkCover
- The ability to act as a subject matter expert on complex legal issues to the business
- Develop strong working relationships with Panel Solicitors firms
- Facilitate training of our internal staff
To be considered for these roles, you will need to demonstrate:
Abilities in the following areas:
- Case Strategy development & implementation
- Communication, negotiation and conflict resolution
- Application and understanding of the rehabilitation and Workers Compensation Act
- Dealing with complex legal correspondence
Desirable criteria:
- Degree or tertiary qualifications in a legal, injury management or insurance field is highly desirable.Experience in the practice of Workers Compensation law and claims management
- Previous workers compensation or case management experience.
- Strong communication, negotiation and conflict resolution skills
- Well developed organizational and time management skill
