
CQUniversity is seeking an Electrician to ensure electrical maintenance and installation work is completed in
accordance with relevant legislation, codes and standards with minimum disruption to the University.

Key Position Accountabilities
- Perform a high standard of domestic and industrial electrical work including lighting changes, fault finding, repair work, mandatory testing, maintenance sweeps, emergency breakdowns, identification of job requirements and job options and new installation work.
- Assist with the provision of job options, cost estimates, scoping and planning of electrical tasks.
- Be responsible for maintaining up-to-date knowledge of and conducting electrical work in accordance with codes, standards and legislation relevant to the electrical trade.
- Establish effective working relationships with other maintenance teams, staff and sub contractors and provide adequate support when required.
- Provide effective support to other maintenance teams by performing some non-trade related duties when required.
- Ensure all documentation associated with electrical tasks (e.g. certificates of compliance, electronic timesheets, job cards, work orders and service sheets, test certificates, reports and procedures) is completed within required timeframes.
- Fulfil the obligations of the position in respect to organisational wide responsibilities including workplace bullying and harassment, code of conduct, workplace health and safety, multi-skilling, job rotation and record management (refer to PAC website for Organisational Responsibilities Statement).
Selection Criteria
Essential
Electrical trade qualification.
- Demonstrated understanding and ability to supply safe, quality work in accordance with the Electrical Safety Act 2002 & Regulations, AS 3000:2000, Codes of Practice and other relevant legislation, standards and codes.
- Demonstrated competence in working in compliance with WH&S requirements.
- Demonstrated ability to undertake a range of preventative and programmed maintenance, installation, break down and fault diagnosis with minimum supervision to meet tight deadlines.
- Demonstrated ability to liaise with clients, other trades and sub contractors & provide technical advice.
- Demonstrated ability to work productively in a team based environment and provide instruction & training to apprentices when applicable.
Desirable
- Electrical Contractors Licence
Education, Qualification, Experience/Training
Applicants should note that an ability to respond adequately to the selection criteria would normally
require the applicant to have completed a post-trades certificate or advanced certificate and
extensive relevant experience and on the job training; or an equivalent combination of relevant
experience and/or education/training. When addressing the selection criteria, applicants will be

Total remuneration range from $59 381 to $62 721 per annum includes salary from $50 178 to $53 000 per annum
and employer superannuation plus annual leave loading
