John Holland's Minerals and Industrial business delivers project management, engineering and construction services to mineral and industrial sectors in all regions of Australia. We pride ourselves on our multi-disciplined approach and ability to build complex scale Marine Projects, Coal Terminals and Iron Ore Facilities.
We are currently seeking an experienced Design Engineer based in Brisbane working with the Minerals and Industrial business unit within the Energy and Resources Division.
Key responsibilities include:
- Coordinating the design process between the various design disciplines and the construction team
- Providing conceptual temporary works design
- Review of detailed design completed by third parties in conjunction with client requirements
- Identifying the scope of design works associated with the contract for both permanent and temporary works
- Coordinate design queries from construction personnel
- Ensuring the design process is optimised for cost efficiency and ease of construction whilst meeting client expectations and requirements
- Liaising with construction personnel to provide input into the design process for constructability, cost minimisation and safety of construction
- Problem solving technical and design issues as they arise
To be considered for this role you will have a Degree qualification in Engineering (Civil or Mechanical) with Design experience (Marine or Structures). You will have a solid understanding of construction methodology and highly experienced with Autocad.
