An exciting opportunity is currently available for an experienced Senior Liability Underwriter to join our Melbourne Corporate team. In this challenging role you will develop key relationships with brokers, with a particular focus on the efficient and profitable underwriting of a growing renewal book and acquisition of new business. Service delivery and relationship management will be keys to your success.
Some key responsibilities will include:
- Underwriting of the Casualty portfolio in accordance with the Casualty strategies, underwriting guidelines, technical pricing, designated underwriting authorities and Service Standards;
- Provide input from a Casualty perspective into the Regional Strategic and Operational plan, objectives and financial targets;
- Ensuring that pricing is undertaken in accordance with agreed technical pricing models, guidelines and business plans;
- Establishes and maintains a program of intermediary and customer visits in conjunction with the State Sales Process;
- Maintaining a personal awareness of market trends and developments and providing appropriate information with particular regard to early detection of issues to relevant stakeholders of market changes.
As the successful applicant, you will:
- Have strong technical knowledge and proven track record of Liability Underwriting
- Provide input from a liability perspective into the Regional Strategic and Operational plans, objectives and financial targets
- Thrive on maintaining an awareness of market trends, and be able to identify and implement improvements in our internal systems, procedures and service delivery
- Enjoy working in a team environment with the communication skills to be able to interact with all other business areas.
ANZII (Associate) qualification or equivalent is a preferred requirement of the role but not essential prerequisite.
