An exciting opportunity has become available for a State Distribution Manager in our General Insurance business unit. You will manage the implementation of a customer focused approach ensuring Sales and Retention Targets and customer needs are met.

The role:

  • Some key responsibilities will include:
  • Accountable for ensuring that budget targets are achieved. New business, retention, profitability, and growth targets are key.
  • Plan and manage all key distribution initiatives and messages into the market place.
  • Manage all GI loyalty programs i.e. Zenith and Zurich BrokerPlus.
  • Develop and manage targeting approach to new business acquisition and cross selling off existing lines.
  • Maintain appropriate activities to maximise retention of existing business. Expenses to be managed within budget targets.
  • Managing and overseeing the delivery of the service levels that will meet the expectations of the team's panel of intermediaries. Direct clients (if applicable) as well as to all internal Zurich key relationships

Requirements:

As the successful candidate you will have the following capabilities:

  • Multi line underwriting knowledge
  • Significant experience in leading and managing a team
  • Ability to apply an understanding of financial and market dynamics within the Insurance industry
  • Commercially astute with a comprehensive understanding of the General Insurance industry and the products available.
  • Knowledge of the theory and practice of relationship based sales models as applied to intermediated sales
  • Sound knowledge of how to generate additional business through intermediaries
  • Demonstrated ability to lead, coach and manage a high performing sales and service team
  • Proven knowledge of operational and financial Management
  • An understanding of underwriting principles
