The Office of the Environmental Protection Authority works to ensure our State's environmental values are protected and development occurs in an environmentally responsible manner.

Similar appointments may be made from this process in locations throughout Western Australia within a six month period to positions that may be permanent or contract, including contract appointments with the possibility of subsequent permanency.

Job Description

The Administration Officer:

  • Provides personal and administrative assistance to the Manager of the Mining and Industrial Assessments Branch and the Manager of the Planning and Infrastructure Assessments Branch.
  • Maintains and oversees the operation of the Branches administrative systems.
  • Ensures the quality control and timely delivery of Environmental Protection Authority (EPA), Ministerial and Divisional correspondence and briefings for the branches.
  • Assists in the recording and processing of EPA, Ministerial and Divisional correspondence and briefings for the branches.

Selection Criteria

Applicants should address the following four criteria in a written application. These should be addressed in no more than three pages.

Please note that all criteria are considered essential unless stated otherwise.
  1. Demonstrated administrative experience and organisational skills with the ability to provide support to senior management.
  2. Experience in the processing and recording of correspondence.
  3. Good oral and written communication skills, including stakeholder focused interpersonal and negotiation skills.
  4. Knowledge of general office management and secretarial functions.
The following criteria will be assessed at some stage during the selection process.

  1. Good analytical and conceptual skills.
  2. Good level of proficiency in Microsoft Word and other Microsoft Office systems.
  3. Understanding of Objective records systems or equivalent.
  4. Understanding of occupational safety and health and equity and diversity principles and practices.
  5. Knowledge of the working relationship between the EPA and the Office of the EPA. (Desirable)
