Institutional Banking & Markets (IB&M) is responsible for the provision of products and services to nearly 3000 major corporate, institutional and government clients. This is achieved through origination, structuring and execution of on and off balance sheet products that are enhanced through the efficient application of taxation, accounting, risk and capital management technologies. Institutional Banking & Markets is the primary face to the market for all complex financing and advisory functions for the Bank's corporate and government clients.

ROLE PURPOSE:

  • The purpose of this role is Foreign Exchange Business Development; bringing both Corporate and Institutional Banking clients to the CBA Global Markets Business.
  • The role involves sourcing new-to-bank clients for the ICS and CRS NSW Businesses. Using CBA's Foreign Exchange solutions and on-line execution channel (CommBiz Markets) as a lead product, you will adopt specialised marketing tactics, plans and initiatives to source new-to-Bank clients.

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES:

  • Pro-actively target new business opportunities to help grow existing business.
  • Assist the Head of NBD in creating and implementing the business plan & strategy for new business development (new to Bank & new to GM).
  • Actively identify other GM business opportunities and cross sell other GM products when required.
  • Assist the team in developing structured risk management solutions for clients and assist with the presentation and implementation of risk management strategies.
  • Assist other team members with deal identification deal structure and closure.
  • Actively gather, maintain and report knowledge of industry and market conditions. Maintaining a high level of individual competency and professionalism at all times.

Teamwork / Team Support

  • Provide onsite support to your team across new-business-development.
  • Assist NBD Team in developing their sales and marketing skills and build the profile of both CRS and ICS.
  • Assist NBD Team in developing, training and coaching of peers.
  • Assist the other CRS & ICS Sales Teams in originating new-to-market deal opportunities.

Risk Management

  • Identify and assess the risks, which could prevent you from achieving the objectives of your role. Plan and execute risk mitigating procedures.
  • Ensure you adhere to regulatory requirements, Bank's policies and procedures.
  • Client/Internal Client/Business Partners
  • Provide superior service aligned with the client's [and partner's] needs and the organisation's business objectives.
  • Develop a strong and trusted relationship with the targeted clients. Client contact ranges from treasury dealer to C-Suite.
  • Look for opportunities to cross sell other GM or Bank products utilising One Team Referral (OTR)
  • Actively build internal relationships and networks within client facing departments to establish and maximise referral lead sources

To be considered for this role you will have:

  • 3+ years experience in Foreign Exchange New Business Development
  • A strong aptitude for planning, creating and executing business development strategies.
  • Sound knowledge of financial services and GM products
  • Excellent communication skills (written and verbal) including presentation and public speaking
  • Analytical with strong problem solving, numerical and verbal reasoning skills
  • Adapts well and enjoys change
  • Excellent computer literacy
  • Proven commitment to comply with regulations, policies and process
