We are currently seeking a Purchasing and Inventory Supervisor to join the Supply Division here at Queensland Nickel. The primary objective of this position is to supervise the materials purchasing and inventory teams to ensure site requirements and standards are met.
- Managing the tendering, purchasing and contracting activities for materials
- Managing the Material Master and Inventory Reorder process ensuring high levels of data integrity and processing efficiency
- Identify and implement opportunities to improve performance of suppliers and achieve a high standard of customer service
- Develop, implement and continuously improve purchasing and inventory policies and standards
- Supervise and continuously mentor the Purchasing and Inventory teams
The ideal applicant for this position will have tertiary qualifications in Supply/Purchasing or a related discipline coupled with significant experience in a relevant supervisory capacity. It is critical to have a sound grasp of procurement and inventory control processes, as well as a strong product and vendor knowledge. An understanding of technical spares requirements for large minerals processing operations and a working knowledge of Hazardous Materials and Workplace Health and Safety Acts would be a distinct advantage.
A high degree of proficiency with SAP MM module or a similar integrated system together with previous experience in specialist inventory management software such as Oniqua would be highly regarded. This is in addition to your strong skills in MS Office software applications. To be successful in this position, we require someone who has good mathematical and analytical skills, strong negotiation ability and a commitment to providing excellent customer service to all internal and external stakeholders.
