The role
Reporting directly to the Laboratory Manager, the role of Assistant Manager – 2IC is required to undertake and manage routine reporting, testing, training, investigation, calibration and research and development projects for construction material quality and compliance. You will be required to facilitate the coordination of tests throughout the cycle from entering the laboratory to reporting the results and follow up of client satisfaction.
The Assistant Manager/2IC will also lead by example to ensure a healthy and safe workplace and to promote the physical security of our people and assets.
The person
The successful applicant will demonstrate the ability to effectively coordinate laboratory staff to ensure testing deliverables are carried out efficiently whilst maintaining the necessary focus on quality standards. You will need to be driven in order to assist the Laboratory Manager with the delivery of improved laboratory staff productivity, knowledge, processes and overall customer satisfaction.
With a constant focus on internal and external collaboration with interest groups this role will show determination through task management to ensure positive results and an initiative to maintain and enhance commercial relationships
Experience with Quality Management Systems and National Association of Testing Authorities (NATA) Signatory is a requirement for this position. Prior experience with Australian Standards (AS) and QLD Main Roads testing methods with knowledge of QESTLab would be an advantage.
