The primary responsibilities for this role will be, to plan and coordinate bulk shipments in a specific region, the long term planning in relation to freight and inventory allocations, liaising with key suppliers internal and external to assure effective and efficient movement of goods.


Responsibilities will include:
  • Plan and coordinate the loading of bulk grain vessels
  • Assist with long term planning in relation to allocation of freight and inventory
  • Ongoing maintenance (daily) of the booked shipping slots
  • Nomination of suppliers at load port (agents, Fumigation Company)
  • Liaise with vessel agents on vessel ETA and communicate with internal stakeholders
  • Coordinate the movement of inventory to meet vessel schedules
  • Liaise with road freight and rail freight coordinators on allocation matters
  • Monitor port stock
  • DEM DES calculations
  • Placing orders with freight carriers and sites to bring the grain to the nominated port
  • A degree of travel is required both domestic and internationally
To be successful in your application, you will have:
  • Knowledge of trade flows, freight and bulk handling systems
  • Operational experience in logistics operations preferably in a agribusiness environment
  • Tertiary qualifications in relevant fields preferred
  • General grain, oilseed, vegetable oil and protein product commodity knowledge
  • Fluent with Microsoft applications
  • Negotiation skills
  • Awareness of fundamental principles of commercial law
  • High level communication skills
  • Problem solving skills
  • Scheduling and organizational skills
  • Honest and ethical business conduct
