Lung Foundation Australia is a national charity devoted to serving everyone in Australia with a lung disease. Their vision is to ensure that lung health is a priority for all in Australia and to promote lung health in Australia by:
- Educating the community in lung health and early detection of lung disease;
- Reducing the burden of lung disease in the community through patient and carer support;
- Influencing public policy, through advocacy across all levels of government; and
- Raising funds for medical and scientific research.
- The Lung Foundation Australia National Office employs about 17 professional/administrative staff based in Brisbane and 2 professional staff based in Sydney, supported by a team of dedicated volunteers.
Lung Foundation Australia has a fantastic opportunity for a full time Marketing & Public Relations Officer to join their dedicated team in Milton, Brisbane.
Reporting to the Senior Manager Lung Health National Program, you will be responsible for providing marketing, media and web support for Lung Foundation Australia in its efforts to achieve its ongoing goals. You will also be responsible for implementing and evaluating marketing, communications, public relations and fundraising activities.
This role will see you identifying opportunities for increasing the Lung Foundation Australia donor base and awareness of lung related conditions.
More specifically, your duties will include (but not be limited to):
- Drafting, distributing and advising on press releases;
- Seeking paid and unpaid media coverage;
- Developing and maintaining a qualified media distribution list;
- Overseeing social media opportunities including Facebook and Twitter;
- Supporting Senior Manager in the development and implementation of a brand and marketing strategy;
- Acting as the spokesperson for events;
- Managing Google Grants account campaigns;
- Managing incoming fundraising enquiries; and
- Attending fundraising events when required.
Lung Foundation Australia is seeking an individual who will be able to hit the ground running, and who has the demonstrated ability to successfully achieve objectives and deadlines. You will have a strong background in a marketing/advertising/communications role, along with outstanding communication skills and the ability to work independently to get the job done.
Importantly, you will be a creative and energetic team player with a keen eye for detail. You'll be a real 'people person' - happy to work in a team environment, and thriving in networking situations. In addition you will have the ability to establish good working relationships at both a corporate and community level.
Your ability to produce quality marketing collateral and make effective decisions in a fast-paced environment will be pivotal to your success. You will also have a proven ability to exercise judgement with minimal supervision.
