
The Western Australian Cricket Association (WACA) is the governing body of cricket in the state of Western Australia, home to WA’s elite teams, the Warriors and the Western Fury, and the T20 Big Bash League’s Perth Scorchers. It oversees the development of the game across a variety of metro and regional areas, age groups and communities. The WACA’s vision is to make cricket Australia’s favourite sport, in conjunction with Cricket Australia, and to be the leaders across national team representation, elite team success, participation, engagement and fan experience.
We are currently seeking an enthusiastic and hardworking candidate to join our small Business Services team as a full time Accounts Officer for a period of 8 months (September 2013 to May 2014) to cover an employee on maternity leave. The primary focus of this role is to manage and coordinate the accounts payable and coordinate match day cash management.
Utilising accounting software, you will be responsible for the processing of all invoices. You will be matching purchase orders, obtaining authorisation, checking cost codes and processing payments. You will be preparing banking sheets and depositing incoming funds.
The successful candidate must have had at least 12 months in a similar accounting role with exposure to accounting principles. You must have the ability to communicate effectively with internal and external stakeholders and to meet strict financial deadlines.
You will possess a strong work ethic, strong attention to detail due to a high volume of data entry, have the ability to work to deadlines and the willingness to contribute to a team environment. Exposure to Sun Systems Accounting or a similar software package will be favourably viewed.
