iiNet employ more than 2,000 staff and supports over 1.7 million broadband, telephony and Internet Protocol TV (IPTV) services nationwide. To make it all happen, we need like-minded individuals to join our corporate community - people with bags of energy, curiosity and imagination. Right now, our fast paced ITS division are seeking an IT Officer to join their team to assist with the installation and maintenance of the iiNet staff network, as well as providing ongoing support for our users.

Reporting to the ITS Support Manager, this is a 3 month secondment role. It's a great opportunity to up skill, and to expand your IT knowledge with exposure to one of our busiest internal departments.

What you'll do:
  • • Providing a single point of contact and 1st level support for internal customers; investigation and
  • • resolution of all problems within the IT Support area of responsibility
  • • Following appropriate workflows, processes and procedures
  • • Prompt handling of all calls and work requests
  • • Setup and maintenance of user network accounts in accordance with defined policies and guidelines
  • • Assist in the purchasing and administration of hardware and software as required
  • • Perform backup functions in accordance with defined policies and guidelines
  • • Hands-on troubleshooting and resolution of Workstations, printers, switching/patching and desk phone related faults
What you'll need:
  • • Excellent customer service skills
  • • Willingness to learn and develop technical skills
  • • Experience in a desktop support role or core understanding of desktop support essentials/basics
  • • Knowledge of Active Directory basic functions and tasks
  • • Knowledge and understanding of Microsoft Exchange basics
  • • An understanding of Standard Operating Environment (SOE) installations
  • • Basic knowledge of networking (LAN) and Cisco devices (switches and phones)
  • • Good support knowledge of printers and peripherals (projectors, AV systems)
  • • Knowledge and understanding of Macintosh OS configuration essentials
