Salmat is a unique Australian company, leading the industry in the provision of customer communication solutions. We strategically use different communication mediums, including voice and non-voice channels, and other applied capabilities in the areas of online technology, demographic insight and detailed data management.

We have an exciting opportunity for an experienced pre-sales resource to join our team within the BPO division of Salmat. The Principal Business Consultant will be a trusted advisor and recognised authority providing expert advice to both internal and external clients.

Overall this role will be responsible for providing technical sales support, working with Sales and Delivery in the preparation of client proposals, tender responses and Statements of Work, leading Business Consulting engagements and mentoring other team members.

The main responsibilities of this role also include:

  • Delivery of sales-support activities including planning and delivering solution presentations and demonstrations and providing product guidance.
  • Designing customer solutions that meet the client needs and demonstrate value.
  • Developing technically compelling and bid-winning proposals and RFx response documents in conjunction with Sales and consultation with Delivery.
  • Leading and providing consulting services for paid consulting engagements.
  • Developing Statements of Work in consultation with Sales, Delivery and Commercial.
  • Providing input (from client and market feedback) to product development in order to have competitive product / service offerings in the market place.
  • Developing pricing models that are competitive and are profitable with full understanding of associated costs.
  • Developing and delivering Salmat internal training to increase awareness and understanding of our product offerings.
  • Marketing and promoting solutions, products and services by developing sales collateral and tools.
  • Contributing to group strategic direction and goals.
  • Providing required monthly and ad-hoc reporting.

To be successful in this role you must possess the following:

  • Extensive expertise in the relevant technological environment.
  • Sound knowledge of Business Process Outsourcing market, solutions and technologies.
  • Demonstrated success in pre-sales engagements and presentations.
  • Uncovering customer business needs and drivers
  • Ability to undertake current state analysis and solution designs
  • Ability to align technology to business outcomes.
  • Analytical, diagnostic and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to combine business, technical and commercial understanding.
