The position…. is a fantastic opportunity to become the public face of this great city's world class parks. Our Park Rangers deliver first class customer service to parks users, enhancing park user experiences through the education and promotion of positive use of public open spaces. In this role, you will proactively and professionally monitor appropriate standards of public safety in open spaces, and use your initiative and excellent communication skills to identify and resolve potential safety issues or misuse of park assets. You will regularly patrol, assess and report on activities within our parks. Where required, as an Authorised Officer of Council, you will enforce regulations and issue infringement notices and take appropriate actions against inappropriate activities. You are…
- knowledgable and experienced in open space management, with experience and/or qualifications in horticulture, natural resource management, or open space education programs,
- able to demonstrate your experience in a challenging front-line customer service positions including experience in dealing with difficult and aggressive customers,
- outstanding in your verbal and personal communication skills, with experience in public speaking, conducting public tours and group presentations,
- sound in your understanding of environmental management principles relating to flora and fauna in the urban environment.
