
Suitable applicants will be placed in a pool from which permanent and/or temporary appointments may be made. This pool will operate for twelve months from the date of the initial placement in the pool.
As a Payroll Officer you will participate as part of a team to create and maintain personnel and payroll records in accordance with established procedures and legislation. The position provides an advisory service for the Department and client agencies on entitlements, procedures and the interpretation and application of Awards, Agreements and policies.
Selection Criteria
Essential:
- Experience in providing a quality and customer focussed advisory service on entitlements and procedures.
- Ability to meet strict deadlines as part of a team, and demonstrate skills and qualities that will further support the team's ability to adapt quickly and deal with competing priorities.
- Ability to clarify requests and communicate complex or technical information to a diverse group of people.
- Experience in extracting and researching from an information system or alternatively an online source.
- Ability to provide information and have an understanding of the impact of providing information that is subsequently found to be incorrect.
