Job Description
This position supports the Manager Financial Operations in providing a high level financial management service that influences the achievement of organisation business objectives. The position manages a team that ensures the strategic operations of revenue, expenditure and financial ledger accountabilities are complete, accurate and bona fide.
Selection Criteria
Essential:
- Proven experience and a working knowledge of all aspects of financial operational services including accounts payable, accounts receivable, general ledger reconciliations and purchasing.
- Demonstrated ability to lead and manage people in a team environment and demonstration of supervisory and organisational skills
- Demonstrate effective written and oral communication skills including the ability to negotiate to achieve the successful resolution of complex matters.
- Demonstrated capacity to work accurately, prioritise workloads during times of competing deadlines, meet strict deadlines with minimum supervision both as part of a team and individually.
- Awareness of Equal Opportunity and Occupational Safety and Health principles and practices.
Desirable:
- Knowledge and understanding of the Financial Administration and Audit Act, Treasury Instructions and associated legislative requirements.
- Knowledge of Oracle Financials.
- Possession of a relevant tertiary qualification or eligibility for membership of a professional accounting body
