ROLE
The aim of this exciting role is to improve the underwriting profit of a suite of commercial insurance products. This is a high profile position, reporting into our Chief Pricing Actuary. This role gives you an exciting opportunity to use your pricing experience, work closely with our General Insurance Senior Management and Underwriting teams and lead a small team.
We are looking for someone who has a passion for achieving results, and who has a strong desire to drive Zurich's actuarial team forward, to become truly 'best practice'.
Responsibilities include:
- Provide recommendations on pricing of portfolio to deliver required return on equity which includes overall price, pricing structure, segmented parameters and methodology
- Develop and make continuous improvements to Technical Price as per our Global Underwriting Policy
- Develop and deliver the regular distribution of detailed monitoring of each product on claims experience and policies
- Provide technical and financial analysis support to the Reinsurance Manager Provide advice on the pricing of individual large policies or schemes
- Manage 2 staff, including performance appraisals, technical development and day to day support
REQUIREMENTS
As the successful candidate you have extensive pricing experience in the general insurance sector. A solid working knowledge of corporate or CTP lines of business will be highly regarded.
FIAA or equivalent qualifications are essential as are an understanding of appropriate actuarial and statistical models and techniques. You have a reputation for your high level analytical and critical thinking ability and your superior communication skills. Your success will come from your ability to engage staff and key stakeholders alike.
