Whilst this selection process will initially be used to fill the above vacancy, it may also be used to fill other "identical" vacancies throughout the health service. In addition to this, should the successful applicant decline or vacate the advertised vacancy, then the next most suitable applicant may also be selected from this process. Both of these options remain valid for a period of six (6) months from the start date of the first applicant appointed.

Position Profile: Kimberley Mental Health and Drug Service are seeking suitable applicants for the position of Clinical Nurse Specialist. In this role you will be responsible for the supervision of the Acute Psychiatric Unit and consultation regarding admissions and discharges, as well as ensuring appropriate staffing levels and management of the daily nursing roster.

You will also provide specialist mental health nursing knowledge and skills in the deliverance of culturally appropriate care to mental health inpatients. The successful applicant will act as a clinical resource to staff working in the Acute Psychiatric Unit and in other areas in Broome Hospital, as well as deputising for the Clinical Nurse Manager when appropriate.
