Brisbane City Council is an exciting place to start your career. If you are motivated and eager to learn we have numerous exciting civil construction traineeships. These positions are located across Brisbane including Stafford, Eagle Farm, Zillmere and Darra.
You will be required to work in a team environment and undertake a Certificate II in Civil Construction. The role involves using a variety of small machinery such as mowers, bobcats, vibrator plates and rollers along with hand tools. Duties include:
- routine maintenance and minor road repairs
- bikeway and footpath repairs and maintenance
- sign installation
- basic labouring tasks including topsoiling, laying turf, seeding, paving and assisting in setting up and pouring concrete.
To be successful you will need:
- a valid 'C' class driver's licence
- to hold a white card (formerly blue card) for construction safety, or have the potential to acquire one prior to commencement
- to be reliable and have the ability to work well in a team.
- Council encourages a healthy work life balance and offers a package based on the Training Wage Award. Candidates with qualifications at Certificate II or higher are ineligible for these roles.

Salary range: $581.94 to $667.52/wk
