John Holland, in alliance with GHD and the Public Transport Authority (PTA), has been appointed to deliver the $360m Perth City Link rail project in the Perth CBD. The project involves sinking the Fremantle Line (325m of rail) between William Street and Lake Street/King Street to reconnect the CBD with Northbridge and create new land for redevelopment. The project commences on site in November 2011 and has a project duration of 3 years.
We are looking for an experienced Project Accountant to join our Delivery Team. Reporting to the Project Financial Manager, you will manage the financial functions and administration of the accounting team, and have accountability for team compliance to statutory and corporate standards.
Your key responsibilities will include:
In order to be successful in this role you will ideally have 3-5 years experience in a Project Accounting role within the Construction industry. You will have demonstrated commercial experience in financial and management accounting, including debtor/creditor management. Strong leadership skills with demonstrable experience in the management of small teams, proficiency in the application of spreadsheet systems used in accounting processes and good organisational skills are also essential criteria for this role.

- Maintaining accurate and up-to-date relevant financial accounts
- Implementing operating budgets and other financial reporting
- Providing accurate monthly summaries and reviews
- Preparing information and contributing to monthly Project Valuation's, business reporting and subcontractor performance reporting
- Supervising the accounting team in ensuring company policies and procedures are followed during the processes with regard to petty cash and relevant management reports
- Supervising accounts payable / receivable functions.
- Supporting the Finance Manager in the preparation of budgets and forecasts
- Supporting the monitoring of capital and overhead expenditure within budgets & JHG policies and procedures.
- Assisting in cost control and analyses
- Ensuring all Contractor payments are made on time
