The State Library of Western Australia seeks to enrich the lives of Western Australians by enabling access to resources for information, learning, enterprise and recreation; and collecting and preserving our social and documentary heritage for current and future generations.
The Strategic and Corporate Services Directorate leads and manages support services to the organisation in the areas of Digital and Technology services, compliance and risk management, marketing and communications, records management, facilities and venue hire. Finance and human resources are provided in conjunction with the Department of Culture and the Arts and the Office of Shared Services.
An opportunity to join a small, friendly, dedicated team responsible for support of State Library of WA Linux servers and networks (including firewalls).
This is a permanent, full-time vacancy. There will also be a pool operating for a period of 18 months from initial appointment. Applicants deemed suitable will be placed into a pool from which full-time, fixed term or permanent appointments may be made.
This position is located in central Perth in the Culture Centre hub close to the bustling café, tourist and shopping districts.
To provide support, administration and maintenance of State Library Linux servers, networks, and other ICT infrastructure in accordance with service level agreements and operational requirements.

- a three A4 page (maximum) document that addresses the following Essential Work Related Requirements that are listed on the attached Job Description Form:
- Demonstrated extensive practical experience in administration of Linux/UNIX servers including installation, configuration, maintenance, backup and recovery
- Demonstrated experience in installing, configuring and administering computer network hardware and software including firewalls
- Demonstrated ability to identify client needs and expectations and provide flexible and responsive service.
- Demonstrated extensive practical experience in administration of Linux/UNIX servers including installation, configuration, maintenance, backup and recovery
- a completed Application for Advertised Vacancy Form.
