We are seeking a professional librarian to manage day-to-day operations at the City Campus Library who will provide client-focused lending services, and management of access to the collection, the Library premises, furniture and equipment.
- The day-to-day operations at the City Campus Library
- The performance and development of City Campus Library Services staff to ensure effective and efficient Library services
- The provision of a professional, client-focused Campus Library Service including the loans desk, rosters, collections, and facilities.
For this entry-level management position you will have:
- An undergraduate degree and a Library qualification either a Dip LIS (Level 6), or MLIS
- A minimum of 3 years Library experience in a qualified position, preferably in an academic library
- A sound knowledge of lending services including experience of Library Management Systems
- Experience in general reference work in an academic library
- Strong interpersonal skills with knowledge of supervising staff and team building
- Awareness of the issues and challenges facing libraries
- Strong negotiation and problem-solving skills
- Excellent customer service & communication skills.
This is full-time (75 hours per fortnight) position requiring some flexibility across the full span of opening hours. AUT is a young and dynamic university that offers a stimulating work environment and excellent professional development opportunities.
