Australian Red Cross Blood Service Seeking A Receptionist - Kalgoorlie

The Australian Red Cross Blood Service (Blood Service) is a not-for-profit organisation and a division of Australian Red Cross. We are responsible for the provision, collection, screening, processing and distribution of blood, blood products, tissues and related services Australia-wide.

It is important to the Blood Service that we continue to build on this, having the right people in the right roles who are engaged, creative and capable.

We are seeking an enthusiastic and team orientated individual to join the Donor Services team to provide our donors and stakeholders with exceptional service. This position is permanent part time for 20 hours per week and based in our Kalgoorlie Blood Donor Centre. The Receptionist welcomes donors; provides administrative support to the donor centre team and assists with a wide range of day to day activities associated with the smooth operation of the Donor Centre.

In this role you will:
  • Answer telephone queries
  • Greet donors and visitors
  • Confirm and follow up appointments
  • Participate in Marketing initiatives
  • Maintain accurate records
  • Perform data entry and manage information with a database
  • Maintain a professional and orderly work environment
  • Assist with donor refreshment duties where required

To be successful in this role you will have:
  • Demonstrated ongoing commitment towards the provision of exceptional service
  • Well developed communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to read, understand and apply written information
  • Proven ability to maintain accurate systems in regard to appointments and managing of donors in the ‘waiting’ area
  • Willingness to work with others to achieve a shared goal
  • Willingness to take action and be accountable for their actions and decisions
  • Intermediate computer literacy (Word & Excel)
  • Previous experience in a customer service role, reception or hospitality (desirable)

Position Profile: The opportunity exists for an experienced Podiatrist to join a dynamic, innovative Regional Allied Health team. This position coordinates, manages and participates in delivery of Podiatry services to the northern area of the WA Country Health Service (WACHS) – Goldfields.

This position is part of the Allied Health Heads of department Team and there are opportunities for the development of skills in non-clinical areas as well as clinical areas.

Area Profile: Kalgoorlie is Australia’s largest inland city and is the heart of gold mining in Australia, situated 579km east of Perth. Kalgoorlie has a rich history and is currently a thriving country town of over 30,000 people. The town has a healthy arts scene, and sport is an important part of community life. A wide variety of recreational clubs operate in town, from theatre and photography to hockey, rugby, AFL and tennis. We are only a few hours away from Esperance and its neighbouring national Parks, where pristine beaches can be found.
