About the role
This role is within our Storage and Logistics division and an integral component Finance function of the group. Reporting to the General Manager Finance, Storage & Logistics and working closely with the business operating areas; you will have responsibility for end-to-end accounting procedure, financial reporting and controlling.

The fundamental objective of the role is to strengthen the business through the provision of key financial information to the business leaders. Key outcomes for the role include:

  • Provide timely and effective P&L analysis or results and forecasting 
  • Financial accounting is primary objective as well as administration functions to ensure data integrity and sound internal controls •Developing successful business relationships with all levels of the business
  • Lead and develop a team by investing in individual career development

About you
We are seeking a qualified finance professional (CPA/CA) who can demonstrate ownership and initiatives, and a passion for excellence. You will be commercially astute and be adaptable to the changing needs of the organisation. Your outstanding interpersonal and communication skills will enable you to network and influence senior management whilst leading in a collaborative team environment. Hands on financial accounting experience coupled with strong financial systems and control skills will see you flourish in this role.   • Total remuneration package valued up to $64,069 per annum (Salary: $53,407 pa - $58,060 pa) includes employer's contribution to superannuation and annual leave loading.
The Department of Family and Community Services delivers services to some of the most disadvantaged individuals, families and communities in NSW.

We have more than 3 million clients in regional and metropolitan NSW, a budget of $5.6 billion in 2010/11 and more than 20,000 staff.

We provide services to:

  • Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people
  • children and young people
  • families
  • people who are homeless
  • people with a disability, their families and carers
  • women
  • and older people.

Provide administrative support to all staff by undertaking word processing, reception duties, photocopying, mail collection and distribution, purchasing of equipment and supplies and general clerical tasks.

This is a Permanent Full-Time position and an eligibility list may be created for future vacancies in the Armidale area. Applicants must address the full selection criteria.

The following selection criteria form a part of the selection process, so candidates for this role must address each of these items specifically in their application.

  1. Demonstrated ability to undertake a range of administrative and clerical tasks and operate general office equipment.
  2. Knowledge of records management principles and the ability to efficiently track the flow of correspondence and submissions within and to and from the business unit office.
  3. Proven interpersonal, teamwork and communication (both written and verbal) skills.
  4. Ability to organise work, meet deadlines and work independently in a team environment with competing priorities.
  5. Demonstrated effective computer and key board skills with competency in the use of Microsoft Office applications.
  6. Ability to provide a high quality customer service and perform reception duties.
  7. Ability to acquire knowledge of ADHC’s structure, roles, and its relationship with other human services agencies and its clients.
