The Football Operations Manager – AFL Sydney will have a key role in leading the growth and development of senior football in the Sydney metropolitan area
The focus of this position is on the sound administration and day-to-day operation of all senior competitions of AFL Sydney. This will include responsibility for financial control, competition planning, facility hire, and effective communication with clubs, umpires and other key stakeholders
Your responsibilities in this role include:
Football Competitions:
- Manage competition arrangements
- Respond to club enquires, including match day issues
- Administer rules and by-laws and manage associated issues
- Liaise with the Umpires Association and related agreements
- Attend weekend matched regularly
- Ensure that the League operates efficiently and effectively at all times
Finance:
- Manage AFL Sydney budget
- Manage club affiliation finances
- Facilitate payment of umpires
Event Management:
- Manage AFL Sydney finals series
- Coordinate Phelan Medal event and other relevant events
- Assist in the coordination of NAB Challenge matches in Sydney
- Coordinate representative football fixtures where appropriate
We seek a self motivated individual with:
- High level MS Office
- Professional communication skills
- Ability to prioritise tasks and time management skills
- Interest in competition administration and promotion of AFL at all levels
- Proven ability to work with volunteer boards and committees
- Proven ability to work independently
