Applications are invited from suitably qualified medical practitioners eligible for registration with the Medical Board of Australia for the above position within the Psychiatry Training Network B, Northern Sydney Local Health District (NSLHD). Network B consists of: Central Coast Local Health District, Western NSW Local Health District, Far West Local Health District and Justice Health (Forensic Psychiatry).
Applicants should be eligible for registration with the Medical Board of Australia and be registered with the Royal Australian & New Zealand College of Psychiatrists (RANZCP), or be eligible to do so, or on a pathway to general registration.
To provide effective specialist psychiatric health services to patients, whilst undertaking learning and professional development activities with the aim of progressing to become a Fellow of the Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Psychiatrists (RANZCP) Accredited RANZCP trainee rotational positions are available across Network B for trainees who are already in their first year of training AND UPWARDS, who are interested in continuing training in psychiatry as a specialty. Network B is a comprehensive Training Network which offers all mandatory training within the Network. The Network provides a variety of experiences in adult psychiatry in both hospital and community settings, Consultation Liaison psychiatry, Child and Adolescent psychiatry and Old Age psychiatry, Addiction, Rehabilitation, Mood Disorders and Forensic psychiatry. In addition to attendance at the NSW Institute of Psychiatry program, a Site Co-ordinator of Training in each sector oversees a well developed teaching program. An experienced psychiatrist co-ordinates psychotherapy education. There is an active examination preparation program, and trainees of Network B achieve excellent results in the RANZCP exams.
Salary and conditions are in accordance with the Public Hospital Medical Officers Award, Medical Officers – Employment Arrangements in the NSW Public Health System.

Selection Criteria
- MBBS or equivalent and Australian Medical Board Registration
- Minimum 1 year post graduate experience
- Experience in Psychiatry
- Enrolled as a trainee with Royal Australian New Zealand College of Psychiatrists or equivalent
- Current Driver’s license
- Demonstrated high level of communication, negotiation and interpersonal skills
- Preparedness and ability to participate in after-hours overtime and standby rosters
- Ability to work in a multi-disciplinary framework
