Reporting to the Project Manager, the Site Manager will be responsible for the successful planning and managing of construction, provision of technical planning, support and reporting to ensure the successful delivery of the project in accordance with both John Holland's and the Client's expectations and to quality, time and profit objectives.
Your primary responsibilities include
Ensure the scope of works are executed in accordance with the requirements of the contract documents.
Complete all activities on or ahead of time with all Client expectations met, as per measures identified in the Project Plan.
Be responsible overall for all stages of site works from site establishment, excavation, fit out and site closure ,including any equipment selection
Oversee proposals for the placement of materials, plant and equipment required for site works ensuring unobstructed access and progress to activities
Accountable for recording progress on works to ensure information is available for reporting to Construction manager.
Manage Supervisors
Manage subcontractors
Review daily diaries kept by Site foremen and engineers to identify trends /improvements issues that occur on site to implement changes as required.
Encourage and promote John Holland's vision of 'No Harm' within the workplace.
To be considered for this role you must possess the following:
- Tertiary Qualifications in Building or similar and/or relevant experience.
- Minimum of 8-10 years previous construction experience in a similar role
- Financial Management experience - ability to maintain budgets.
- OHS - risk assessment, legislative compliance.
- Strong relationship building, influencing and negotiation skills.
- Competent time management skills.
- Excellent communication skills - both verbal and written.
- Effective team-player capabilities.
- Sound computer literacy with intermediate knowledge of Microsoft Excel & Word.
You will need to build credibility, partnerships and apply rigorous and disciplined approaches, demonstrating your ability to a robust management team, while maintaining a focus on the 'big picture'.
