Reporting to the Team Leader Accounts Payable this position is responsible for the processing of accounts payable data, ensuring timely and accurate payment to Vendors and providing excellent customer service.

As an Accounts Payable Officer you will:

  • Ensure correct paperwork has been provided before payments are processed; processes payment requests to allow payment within timeframes;
  • Answer queries or advises on likely response time and communicates to supervisor when workload expectations are not achievable;
  • Fileelectronic and hardcopy documentation according to agreed filing structure to allow easy retrieval;
  • Maintain data in related payment, reconciliation and accounting systems;
  • Identify improvements to work flow processes and suggests these to the AP Supervisor;
  • Advise management and suppliers of the impact of payment errors or incorrect details being provided such as delays or inaccurate or duplicated payments in order to prevent these occurring in future.

To be successful you will have:

  • Previous experience in an Accounts Payable or Accounting position;
  • Competent with the MS Office suite;
  • Demonstrated ability to build strong professional working relationships;
  • Ability to work autonomously and determine competing priorities in a fast paced environment;
  • Possess effective time management skills with accountability for work standards;
  • Previous experience working with SAP and Spendvision is highly desirable;
  • Certificate III in Business Administration or similar is highly desirable.

Major duties include:

  • Administrative support and lead generation for the State Franchise Managers QLD and Northern NSW
