Tropicana represents the most significant Australian gold discovery of the last decade. The new, large scale open pit gold mining operation will produce 3.45 million ounces over a 10 year mine life (approved project). Construction began in 2011 and first gold is anticipated in the December quarter of 2013.
We are now seeking an experienced Administration Assistant to join our Tropicana Gold Mine Sustainability Department.
Accountable to the Manager: Approvals/Compliance/Sustainability, this role is responsible for providing administrative and secretarial services to the Sustainability and Approvals department. This role is a 4/3 (FIFO based at Tropicana Gold Mine) roster.
The main tasks of the role include but are not limited to:
- Provide a broad range of administrative and secretarial service to the Sustainability and Approvals specialist
- Assist document development, data management and internal and external correspondence
- Coordinate the compilation of the department weekly and monthly reports
- Support the implementation of the Department and project SharePoint Sites
- Support the use of INX, CMO, Monitor Pro in Sustainability Department
- Maintain department training records and critical dates register
- Coordinate new starter arrivals and visits
- Coordinate meetings for the Department
- Assist the Department Manager to coordinate meetings, schedules and conflicts
The ideal candidate will possess:
- Intermediate to advance MS Word and PowerPoint
- Proficient in other MS Office products and database software
- Proficiency in software such as SAP and INX (InControl and InTuition)
- Excellent written and oral communication skills
- Experience in and a passion for safety, health and environmental management in the workplace
- Experience in a similar Personal Assistant or Department Administration role is highly regarded, preferably within the mining or resource sector.
