THE ROLE
The role is responsible for preparing FBT, Payroll Tax and BAS returns for the Group and Wholesale Funds along with managing the tax calendar and maintaining the templates for the preparation of the Statement of Taxable Income (SOTI).
The Group Tax Accountant seeks solely to support the Finance Teams with respect to tax lodgements and ensuring compliance with GPT policies, however, the role may also be involved and/or manage a number of ad hoc projects which may comprise business process refinement, development of instructions & templates, specifying system reports or preparing and delivering internal training on tax matters to the Accounting team.
This role would best suit a diligent & highly organised person with an accounting qualification and recent Australian tax experience.
This role is responsible for:
- Monthly payroll tax payments and annual Payroll tax return preparation and lodgement.
- Monthly BAS return preparation and lodgement.
- PAYG lodgement.
- FBT coding quarterly review.
- FBT return preparation and lodgement.
- Distribution payments.
- Tax calendar management.
- New entity set up and testing for GST .
- SOTI ( Statement of Taxable Income) template maintenance.
- BAS and FBT optimisation projects.
- On-going process improvement.
- Reconciliation of GST clearance accounts.
- Posting of GST payments, clearance and FBT corrections in SAP.
To be considered for this role you will need:
- 4+ years' experience within a similar tax-related role.
- CA / CPA qualified.
- Knowledge of Australian tax legislation.
- Advanced excel skills
- Previous experience with SAP and HFM is highly desirable
