Worldwide leader in technology seeks an experienced Network Specialist to join there growing team. Initially a 12+ month contract to join this global team based in North West Sydney with view to extend.
You will be working within a business unit that is responsible for ensuring Security and Business controls are in place for networking equipment within this Co. and its customer environments.
WAN/ LAN, Firewall implementation and support, problem determination, resolution and project implementation work. This position is part of the Network Services Delivery Group and is responsible for all delivery, network and security assessment certification and compliance.

You will be Responsible for the following:
- WAN/LAN, Firewall implementations and problem determination.
- Accurately record/update in problem management systems network alarms and faults.
- Liaise with other technical areas where necessary to ensure customer reported problems are resolved to the customer satisfaction.
- High awareness of individual customer service levels when dealing with problems.
- Interact within senior problem managers to ensure customer and Management are alerted to severity 1 and 2 problems.
- Callout services to third parties as required - Hardware Vendors etc.
- Develop, implement and maintain processes and procedures as required for the Network & Security Operations Group.
- Training of lesser skilled network security staff as required.
- Adhere to audit compliances strategies to ensure security and business processes as part of BAU activities.
Required Skills
- Key skill is Cisco, Checkpoint, Nokia Juniper F5 load balancers and UNIX.
- Sound experience in WAN LAN, TCP/IP, firewall and Network Security support.
- Vendor and third party supplier liaison skills.
- Team relationship skills.
- Customer relationship skills
- Problem and Change management skills.
- High degree of analytical ability and creativity in resolving 2nd and 3rd level problems.
- Vendor and third party supplier liaison skills
- Demonstrated ability to work under pressure.
- Involvement in the implementation, improvement, maintenance of an operational network;
- MS Office/Lotus SmartSuite, Lotus Notes.
